but we need to change it thank you for your comments next speaker seeing none public speaking is closed any comments from the council councilman kelly thank you council president um i just wanted to address uh you know when i came into office uh lm has been in the city before i was uh as far as doing business and um they had a lot of discrepancies at georgia king village which um you know we asked for the tax abatement to be looked at went through a whole entire um court case with the tax abatement and the courts you know made their decisions that they made um it still wasn't enough even though they seemingly won in court it still wasn't enough for the people so what we did is is uh with the people we continued to to apply pressure because the conditions wasn't seemingly changing in georgia king village so we continued to apply pressure to whereas uh they had to switch managements they had to but they had to go through the state you know there's a lot of um when you're dealing with those type of residents they had to go through the state so they went through the state they only had one one company that was really interested in you know taking over and they finally just took over uh joined i know she said they don't want joined i haven't heard any bad thing about join they haven't done anything yet at georgia king village i don't i don't know why why they say they don't want them but they have taken over and one of the one of the things that in them taking over that they had to do was get rid of all of the current the current employees all of the current management and that is being taken place now and how i know is because dealing with some of the management some of those people are asking me do i know where they can get employment so um they have they they have been taken over so hopefully that the new management the joint management can take care of a lot of the things that the discrepancies over at georgia king village um like mr alief said um i don't i don't really have other than you know being on this council as a collective…

but we need to change it thank you for your comments next speaker seeing none public speaking is closed any comments from the council councilman kelly thank you council president um i just wanted to address uh you know when i came into office uh lm has been in the city before i was uh as far as doing business and um they had a lot of discrepancies at georgia king village which um you know we asked for the tax abatement to be looked at went through a whole entire um court case with the tax abatement and the courts you know made their decisions that they made um it still wasn't enough even though they seemingly won in court it still wasn't enough for the people so what we did is is uh with the people we continued to to apply pressure because the conditions wasn't seemingly changing in georgia king village so we continued to apply pressure to whereas uh they had to switch managements they had to but they had to go through the state you know there's a lot of um when you're dealing with those type of residents they had to go through the state so they went through the state they only had one one company that was really interested in you know taking over and they finally just took over uh joined i know she said they don't want joined i haven't heard any bad thing about join they haven't done anything yet at georgia king village i don't i don't know why why they say they don't want them but they have taken over and one of the one of the things that in them taking over that they had to do was get rid of all of the current the current employees all of the current management and that is being taken place now and how i know is because dealing with some of the management some of those people are asking me do i know where they can get employment so um they have they they have been taken over so hopefully that the new management the joint management can take care of a lot of the things that the discrepancies over at georgia king village um like mr alief said um i don't i don't really have other than you know being on this council as a collective i don't really have anything to do with uh the deal of the central war property other than that we halted and if you go back i halted my vote for that central war property until i found out what l and m had to do with that property because we can't continue to support people who are not supporting our residents in this community so you know i halted and then when it came back after after we met and we came back that they weren't as involved as they they seem to be on on paper then we made the decision to go with this property um because they weren't as involved and you know what we did with the museum property so every time that they come up we hold their feet to the fire to make sure that they're doing proper business by the residents of of newark new jersey and and then we move forward or not so i just wanted to put that out there because i don't want it to seem like i am going with developers over the residents and the people of newark and that is no way the case at all thank you thank you councilman kelly anything else from the council anything from administration roll call council yes gonzalez yes kelly yes ntana abstain ramos yes scott roundtree yes silva abstain president krump yes i is a community benefits agreement for forest hill house preservation urban renewal llc and ahi forest hill house nplc sponsored by councilman ramos second by councilman kentana is there anyone present wishing to be heard on this community benefit agreement before before anyone comes up can we have dhd just come up and give a brief explanation on this matter good afternoon again brandon daniel legislative coordinator for economic and housing development a little background on this project coordinator emergency rent assistance emergency utility assistance food and clothing assistance crisis intervention referral and rainbow scholars program and they will have an on-site resident services coordinator and if you have any questions of forest hill they are representatives present today thank you miss daniel mr mohammed alif mohammed see what i mean that's called representation get in rainbows that's called representation my brother you're gonna make me i'm i'm i i might i might have to apply over there from court towers and come on over there and become a northward because as a kid they wouldn't let me over there you know i couldn't come over there the tires ran me out of there but oh they ran me away they did and i happened to go to broadway and then they said what you doing up here but anyway this is great pat this is great baby this is what you got to do for the south ford this is what you got to do this is great and look at this a hundred things did you hear all the amenities that we're getting now that's community involvement it has nothing to do with 240 square feet i'm gonna be on you about that ba because that was that was disingenuous what you did i don't because focus was right next door to him you wasn't here they was right next door and they need to tell focus i'm still upset about that and you know you my god too but what i'm saying is this is what i'm talking about this is representation this is representation this is what you're supposed to do when when they get this ass this is an unbelievable tax credit generally they'd be fighting over four percent and then you get a nine percent it's like oh my god i got a nine percent they're paying for 60 of the monies when these developers go in these deals like this it's almost on cost of them nothing i'm going to explain that later when i talk about adina but what i'm saying is you know uh uh this is great bravo to councilman ramos i'm gonna go uh apply for um you coming over there but babe we can live together you know thank you thank you for your comments next speaker miss fields you just got back come on miss fields good afternoon george tillman jr so um i'm gonna take a totally different approach to this because this is the same developer that owes us 1.5 million dollars and i did not hear in any one of those community benefits that they're going to be paying the city back the 1.5 million dollars so that was discussed when this was approved that they were going to pay back once they put up that four hundred something dollars for that retro that once it got passed they was going to pay this 1.5 million dollars or whatever is their old councilman roundtree because there was some money that still was old that was settled in that agreement of that 1.5 million was that settled in this community benefit because i would give 25 000 dollars too i would do some bingo i would do some exercise i would give some trips i would give out some food if i had to pay this 1.5 million dollars back that was owed to the city we gave them a tax abatement after they they owed us they got a retro they got an extension almost 60 years of abatements and oldness 1.5 million and they're gonna come in here said this is the community benefit they're giving us for only this 1.5 million dollars let's come back and talk about the 1.5 million dollars before we talk about what community benefit how about the money they owe the city because the taxes have been raised people would have been shut off for less than this developer owes us so please someone please come up here and maybe if they have ba apologize if they paid us our money i apologize but please make it clear to us before you do this if they paid us our money back thank you very much thank you for your comments next speaker mr president uh councilman ramos yeah you know i i like tillman a lot but he's got his facts wrong here um 505 mount prospect is not owned by the entity that owns 444 mt prospect which is a wesley towers building that you spoke about a number of times at the council meeting so i just want to make that clear this building was sold probably about a year ago the new owners have applied for for credits they're in the process now of renovating pretty much every apartment in the building if you drive by you see the construction going on and one of the credits that they received was this aspire credit to pay for some of the improvements and that requires them to enter into this community benefit agreement which is what the council is voting on today but but it's not owned by the same group um that that you're referencing so i just want to make that clear besides being on mount prospect uh maybe three blocks away that's the only thing they have in common so

be fired i say what i said thank you for your comments next speaker deborah salters um thank you for that clarification ramos excuse me um thank you for the clarification um but do they owe us money too i'm just asking before i have to do the research you know because we want to get all that we're supposed to have from everybody that's getting development here i love the project it sounds wonderful our seniors deserve it um they should really only be paying like if anything eight dollars a month to me because it's because of them that we even have this city right now because they were here when no one else was here their blood sweat and tears their kids might listen we got to take care of our listen there's there are people who couldn't wait to become seniors and now they're saying this is what i waited for all these years in the city of north because our seniors used to be treated so well they used to be to be treated like royalty now it's like they're lucky if they get a bag of chips and a pack of candy and a water and talk about i'll feed you dinner like what are we doing we do not respect the ancestors that got us here and are still here so this is a wonderful project we need more of them but at the same time i'm asking if they owe us anything and if they do let's run their pockets because we need that money because our taxes go up our water goes up so you know they need to pay their fair share um let's see something else about this no i think that's it sounds wonderful um and i really hope that they come through on everything that they said we will be checking because we need you know because we're tired of being lied to and fed a story for people to get what they want and then when they get it they don't deliver

really important i'm sorry go ahead go ahead roll call council yes gonzalez yes kelly yes kintana yes ramos yes scott roundtree yes silva yes president klump yes items 8b through e are all reappointment to the hispanic commission council's a hole to adopt items 8b through e council yes gonzalez yes kelly yes kintana yes ramos yes scott roundtree yes silva yes president krump yes 8f is an ordinance amending title two division of central purchasing by adding a new section 14 policies and procedures governing the use of procurement cards roll call council yes gonzalez yes kelly yes kintana yes ramos yes scott roundtree yes silva yes president klump yes sir president councilman ramos yeah i know this on communications but before it pops up at the next meeting maybe we can have a presentation on the you know value of us starting to use these p cards noted let's let's have that presentation next meeting certainly pending business on the agenda items 8b council as a whole to defer 9a and 9b council yes gonzalez yes kelly yes kintana yes ramos yes scott roundtree yes silva yes president krump yes hearing of citizens we are now in the hearing of citizens portion of this meeting where each speaker i think you have the adit starters my apologies strongly discouraged at its starters first at a starter is seven r1 a seven r1 fas is a collective bargaining negotiation settlement with service employees international union local 617 blue collar non-supervisory workers roll call council yes gonzalez yes kelly yes kintana yes ramos yes scott roundtree yes silva yes president krump yes councilman gonzalez says here that is the cost of 15 million 630 thousand 413 dollars and 75 cents that means that the contract total is 45 million dollars mr b a can you step to the mic and speak up and say it again yeah my question is let's say says here that the the impact per year is 15 million dollars almost 16 so that means that we are going to pay 40 46 or 48 almost 48 million dollars for the three years eric pennington business administrator my understanding is that 15 million dollars is the impact over the entirety of the contract the cumulative effect yes it would be like five million dollars a year instead of the 15 that's correct average cost per year right i believe that is incorrect i'm happy to confirm that but i'm i'm 99 i'm ivory certain 99.9 percent sure i believe we should change the language here if that's the if that's the case because having that their average cost of 15 million dollars that commits the city to to 48 million dollars i'm fine with obviously fine with the many net right now yeah so we just voted on it right we have a vote you didn't vote on it yet we'd have to do a motion to reconsider a motion to reconsider second all right motion to reconsider oh uh gonzalez kelly roll call council yes gonzalez yes kelly yes ntana yes ramos yes that round tree yes sova yes president krump yes oh we should eliminate the what it says there or or or say something that uh that would be the total cost of the for the three years like cumulative cost so why don't we just remove average cost per year over term of agreement yeah we should yeah that is that acceptable all right so we amended to remove the average cost per year over term of the of agreement that's the amendment roll call on the amendment council yes gonzalez yes kelly yes ntana yes ramos yes got round tree yes sova yes president krump yes and now roll call on the amended resolution adopt as amended thank you council yes gonzalez yes kelly yes ntana yes ramos yes got round tree yes sova yes president krump yes seven r one g as is the execution of a labor agreement with the police deputy chiefs association council's a hold to adapt so let's ask that question again right just to make sure let's just make sure before we vote yes sir council president to councilman gonzalez's questionnaire accounting to business administrator this one is correct actually okay says the uh it said that's a cost per year yes yeah that's right great thank you mr ba roll call council gonzalez yes kelly yes ntana yes ramos yes got round tree yes sova yes yes seven r six b as is settlement of civil litigation council's a hold to adopt roll call council gonzalez yes kelly yes ntana yes ramos yes got round tree yes sova yes president krump yes seven r nine a a s is professional service contract to provide clinical and forensic psychological counseling council's a hold to adapt roll call council i'm sorry before we vote councilman gonzalez say this entity is the same entity that at one point in time some of our police candidates came here and indicated that it's they felt discriminated by this by this entity yesterday we had someone here another doctor indicating that she the contract wasn't renewed because again she was discriminating against some of the candidates so what are we going to do if we continue receiving uh let's say complaints from the people that all these doctors are let's say discriminating against them we're going to fall out of a candidates to send this individuals who i believe it deserved to have a much better and deeper investigation that just one complaint and changing doctors so let's do this through through through the county uh city clerk's office let's let's send a letter to the business administrator to ask that we have a further discussion an executive session about this matter i'll second council president i know you have a business administrator yeah you have a motion in a second there are a couple of things i think that the comment by councilman gonzalez presumes that the uh that the putting this particular contract on the agenda is based on the complaint by one single individual about their child being discriminated against and that's not the case there was a need to have more than one entity who could provide the psychological services to the company the woman who spoke yesterday her contract was not terminated it is still in existence she hasn't had new recruits sent to her office recently but it was not based on singularly the representation that was made by a parent i don't want to go into the details of any individual assessment but i will say that the favor to have a forensic psychologist on board stops our ability to bring on police officers if that's the will of the council then certainly you have that right but we cannot bring on any new officers without having how many doctors we have now on the contract i believe this is the second of three and there's a third entity that is also under consideration there's one in morristown there's dr rafanella i believe it is i don't remember the location where they came here yesterday and we are adding a third one yes at one point in time we had only one and that was efficient to have to examine all the candidates that we had so i don't see the need to have three of them well i think again certainly you're entitled to your opinion of efficiency i don't know that the uh the efficiencies uh are as good as they could have been and i've never seen a situation where you have multiple opportunities to have work done where it impedes i shouldn't say i've never seen that's not fair but i don't see how this would impede the efficiency of having um psychological psychological analyses uh done mr president councilman ramos i i just want to shed a little light and what councilman raised i remember this this particular entity some many years ago councilman rice at the time he was heading up an investigative committee um which led to the referral that preceded the um consent decree essentially and a number of officers appeared before our committee i was a member of that committee um alleging discriminatory practices when it came to the psychiatrist or the firm that the city had under contract at the time and that the firm was this particular company and for a number of years um the administration at that time decided not to engage uh this entity because of some of the testimony that was given to our committee so so that's that's that's probably where councilman's reference point is coming from so i just want to put that on the record okay all right yeah councilman council i mean to to that point is understandable but i also agree that people should have multiple choices to be able to visit whatever psychological service that they may deem necessary right and it gives them options and opportunities to be able to sit down and hopefully feel feel like they're not being discriminated against and that they're going into a place where they feel like they may have a fair option or opportunity to get seen and if these entities or things don't don't manifest itself then i mean we still need to continue to do our due diligence to find it but i still believe that if we have to now we still should present ourselves with another option or opportunity i'm not aware of any changes uh or what the course correction was about the institute for forensic psychology over the years what information went out previously from our colleagues that may have set up here or any changes that this institution has made but i think for the benefit of the people who are going through this process because none of us are going through it but they should have options we should not limit their options that they can be able to look for a career choice that they want many people have been stagnated and and and and deny just because of these kind of processes and the more opportunities that they have and they may feel more comfortable and going to different places it provides them with that opportunity so i just wanted to just share from that that standpoint thank you councilman uh in terms of what's been said the last i think the clerk knows when she was in personnel it's been decades of this entity from previous administration they worked for the james administration they have worked under the booker administration and under this current but there was times that 20 years ago that women would come to this council and talk about how they were not was they were not treated fair and they in terms of going back to councilman gonzalez's point i think we should defer it and and have them come before us and give a presentation because they listen 20 some years ago there was problems here with them and it was a big problem because we at the time i was on the committee a public safety committee i chaired at at that time and i remember that there was problems with them and sometimes they would not even come to our meetings to discuss any of the things that we wanted to allude to so again i think we need to i don't think this is this is uh we don't have an academy going next week so i think this could be we we can do this within some time of calling a meeting and having them come before us but to rush into this when there was a bad pattern of the past that left a lot of lawsuits because of these things i i just want to put that on as a friendly suggestion on on covering body thank you councilman councilman kelly uh thank you council president um i too agree that there should be a selection right there should be an opportunity to have multiple um companies um picking uh picking these recruits well i guess my question ba is who picks the recruits is it a random pick for who they go to like which service they take um is there other are there other officers that select these recruits to go to each individual and i think that um all of these questions that we have here you know from the council i think that um we should probably defer it since we don't have a recruit graduating class coming so until we can answer these type of questions sure respectfully if i if i may council president to council councilman kelly uh candidate investigation is the one who assigns the uh the analysis the psychological analysis the recruits don't have the right to select the particular doctor they want to go to uh candidate investigation does that and they assign them based on availability and even though there is not a class that's graduating now there are pending hires that can't take place without the psychological analysis uh to be done so it is hampering our ability to bring officers on that we desperately need so so with that being said i think there's a motion yeah that's what i'm gonna i have a question so i'm gonna council president i'm sorry councilman silver i just have a question um so ba so you say you have three companies uh you have and it's for efficiency so i have a question i go in to see company number one i get denied does that mean i'm coming back to see someone else that's going to get me on not necessarily uh councilman silver through council president no there is a process in place that has just recently been developed where candidates who quote unquote fail a psych evaluation have the right to appeal the psych evaluation they have to go to a psychologist of their choice but one who qualifies uh interestingly enough dr diaz laid out the formula that has to be used yesterday the psychiatrist or psychologist that they go to has to meet the criteria that she laid out yesterday and then they can go through that appeal process and like you were saying candidate investigations the one that determines where you go we don't determine it because i know that for facts right candidate investigations determines the initial assessment the appeal is determined by the candidate they have to pay for the uh the uh the appeal analysis but they have to select the doctor that is approved by the city based on the criteria that was laid out by dr diaz so when that appeal process takes place they go back to one of the three again but maybe they go outside of those three that's right that's right yeah mr president councilor ramos yeah i'm glad councilman silver raised that issue so so police division decides which psychiatrist you go to for the initial evaluation you you don't have the ability to go to louis or carlos or dupree if you decided that you wanted to get evaluated you get evaluated once if you fail you have to go through a very rigorous process to fall an appeal that's right you know i've helped candidates file appeals in the past and as part of that appeal process um if you are granted that opportunity you have to pay to get your own evaluation with someone that's qualified or or credentialed to do so correct that is correct i do know that councilman benzalas is uh has his esquire and his cpa he may have an lcsw as well i don't know so maybe they can go to yeah maybe he's certified exactly some of us up here could use an evaluation yeah right including myself all right so so we have a motion on the floor i think we've heard from all the council members um and and from the business administrator of the need for this uh forensic consulting uh psychological consulting which it seems to be necessary at this time so that we can move forward with candidates but there is a motion on the floor uh the motion is a deferment right now motion by councilman gonzalez seconded by councilman kentana so let's take a roll call on the defer of this matter council no gonzalez yes kelly abstain kentana yes ramos yes scott roundtree yes silver yes president krump abstain so now we need a motion on the actual resolution right i got deferred oh got the first you got five votes five votes to defer oh counseling around three okay i'm sorry all mr mohammed appearing uh good evening again my name is alif mohammed court towers president founder of alif mohammed neoschool first i want to say congratulations to the vice president of the united states karma harris for the wonderful campaign that she ran congratulations i don't know what's wrong with some of my black brothers and some of my latin brothers but i like strong women my mama was one my mama was a strong she was a single woman raising two boys she opened up her business in the central ward a restaurant not a chicken shack a restaurant in 1953 at the same time she got pregnant with me and she carried that baby and she ran that restaurant until 1976 to her son closed it down and said mom it's time to sit down so i like strong women all right get back to the business the business is corruption with the mayor ross maraca and his brother of many amiri baraka i'm dealing with adina again i'm going back to her now let me explain something to you i when i when i got the appointment to this uh housing i was told to look out for adina by the mayor and middie so anybody can say the mayor didn't say it or he didn't say yeah the mayor said it and when i went to maris warner the redeveloper and i said maris they want you to look out for adina and he said i'm aware of that but i don't like doing business with her because the things that she say aren't legal so when i when i was asked to ask maris lawrence maris want to leave a year later maris told me a very interesting thing he said i'll leave never be on the selection committee he said that's dangerous so when i asked him to leave he retired and left i asked him on behalf of the baraka's when i he was uh adina was trying to get two properties and victor became the redevelopment guy when she tried to get the two properties he tried to put together a bergen street and the mahammadi and this deal right here clinton avenue and was so crazy they put the deal together and tried to bid nobody bid it because he was two properties so victor brought it back and the selection…

mr mohammed appearing uh good evening again my name is alif mohammed court towers president founder of alif mohammed neoschool first i want to say congratulations to the vice president of the united states karma harris for the wonderful campaign that she ran congratulations i don't know what's wrong with some of my black brothers and some of my latin brothers but i like strong women my mama was one my mama was a strong she was a single woman raising two boys she opened up her business in the central ward a restaurant not a chicken shack a restaurant in 1953 at the same time she got pregnant with me and she carried that baby and she ran that restaurant until 1976 to her son closed it down and said mom it's time to sit down so i like strong women all right get back to the business the business is corruption with the mayor ross maraca and his brother of many amiri baraka i'm dealing with adina again i'm going back to her now let me explain something to you i when i when i got the appointment to this uh housing i was told to look out for adina by the mayor and middie so anybody can say the mayor didn't say it or he didn't say yeah the mayor said it and when i went to maris warner the redeveloper and i said maris they want you to look out for adina and he said i'm aware of that but i don't like doing business with her because the things that she say aren't legal so when i when i was asked to ask maris lawrence maris want to leave a year later maris told me a very interesting thing he said i'll leave never be on the selection committee he said that's dangerous so when i asked him to leave he retired and left i asked him on behalf of the baraka's when i he was uh adina was trying to get two properties and victor became the redevelopment guy when she tried to get the two properties he tried to put together a bergen street and the mahammadi and this deal right here clinton avenue and was so crazy they put the deal together and tried to bid nobody bid it because he was two properties so victor brought it back and the selection committee was his secretary and her secretary and his secretary so the proposal was a joint vendor it was two people respond another person never had a chance the proposal was they give us seven hundred fifty thousand dollars acquisition money this is the first time i've ever talked to her we were very friendly the first time i ever talked to her and i said to her 750 is not enough because you see i got appraised them and said the land is assessed at 1.4 then i asked her i said you want to lease the land at seventy five thousand dollars a year she said yeah for a hundred years deals don't go like that generally the deal is 25 years on joint development that's why we like we bought the stellar right but a hundred years but the same 75,000 in 1972 my rent was 165 that same apartment is 1600 now so that was crazy then the partnership because it said we got a partnership we don't get nothing we didn't get developer fees we don't get general contact the fees we don't get management fees so i said how's the partnership so when i started asking the questions our first question was about the union because i said the problem you had a 915 i used to walk by all the time and see the um the people out picking and i said you got to be tell us what are you when you say you're going to use the union you got to live with it please be honest and she couldn't answer that question the b.a said oh she you know she's real bright well b.a i got that tape on the work session if you ever want to go on facebook and see it you'll see that this woman didn't know nothing about the deal so when i started asking them more about the deal how much it going to cost all of a sudden npr which is a part is the caucasian people they took the mic from her but it was hard to take the mic because we was on a zoom meeting so norman said wait a minute you can't do that you got to go to the chair first and ask to be speak and they said it's 110 apartments and it's going to be 30 million dollars who going to build something for 30 million dollars 110 also what about the unions we didn't know about that well what about this and that they had no answers to the question so after the meeting we went to a special executive session and i said this deal is a bad deal you got to change all this stuff this is embarrassment so what i'm saying that's called corruption when somebody has said look out for larry crump then larry crump can make it their own deal and they say it's a joint venture and ain't no partnership thank you very much thank you for your comments next speaker colleen and fields all right miss fields god help me not to cry i've never been so disrespected living in a city oh i'm colleen fields from lincoln towers in my life and i've been places i've never saw anything like this and anybody can tell you that colleen loved the residents i'm over here now they tried me i had the gay girl won ten dollars and then the next day she was drunk called me an ob and i come out with a ice pick and told her i'd stab her in her throat and everybody don't go what i go through and i love the people in our mountain telling these black and brown people that they need to come together i'm telling our black men that we need them in the community and we don't need to be divided black people and and and brown people need to be together when i came here a mary baraka senior had a black and puerto rican convention it was quantana that invited me to come to his party and sit down and play chords with him it was one time that said register me to vote and for a whole year i was not allowed to vote and i'm sure miss mcgarry have something to do with it i'm in her ward they even call the sheriff department on me i take up for the people over there and i take up for the puerto rican's whatever and i said oh live whatever and i love them but they don't do you right over there at lincoln towers either it looks pretty right the security lady told me it says more than the elderly the same thing that goes on there goes on here well they didn't lie they sell the drugs we don't have heat in the we don't have heat in the weather we don't have air conditioning in the summer they call crisis on me i had a fire put it out but it's all good and they did things to me oh oh yeah and i want to thank the police officer that i called a nox and i want to apologize but let me tell you something about that officer that officer heard that i was suspended for a year and that officer came to me and and looked like he was going to cry and he said miss fields you didn't do anything and he said you should appeal then another puerto rican cop that works here told me the same thing so i said who should i appeal he said go to the mayor i went to the and the mayor sent me to the business administration whatever her name the geisha girl and she said she didn't know what i was talking about she said she didn't know what i was talking about but you know what god helped me because i love everybody i love everybody i thought god just created me to help my people but he doesn't give me some more wings now i don't care what you are and i tell you one thing i don't know what's going on i don't know racist america how could donald trump be president how could that be all of those fellows he didn't go to jail or the black man get out of jail he a felon he can't even vote it is pitiful but i tell you one thing this dome this golden dome up here it's not golden it's not for real it's only by the grace of god he ain't struck it it's this this place is just as sinful as saddam and gamora it is and i'm ashamed and the way that some of your black people talk to these people come up here and i'm an elder i'm an elder but that's okay i you know and i just said lord i don't even know what i'm gonna say but you know what i be every day i wake up i think about how our black people are being treated here and we voted for y'all we voted for y'all what is going on i have never heard my my puerto rican brothers talk to their people like y'all talk to us what's up with that come on now if i had a one when that happened i probably just waived it and i would have became a puerto rican or a dominican because they treat me better than my own people yes and i mean yes i mean it i mean that i am not a liar i am not a liar that's one thing i'm not and i said lord i don't know you got to help me so he did this my guy was gone is she gone huh i don't know because i had to pray on it and i wasn't gonna call it no names

feelings on a federal level i'm unaffiliated so i vote for the best person i feel should be in the seat but how can you attack trump when you have corruption sitting right here in the city of newark new jersey police and sanitation workers are not being paid on time they are not fully staffed not receiving their benefits that they earn with health insurance we just heard y'all talk about a whole thing the firefighter or the policeman who didn't get his earned days y'all should be ashamed yourself y'all can't talk about that that orange um person over there y'all need to straighten up your own backyard children's on third and eighth grade level can't read on their level and you want something from us the newark um the city of newark spent billions of dollars federal state and borrow bonds from the county first you argued that the lead lines was free of lead the water was free of lead then you came back and had an executive session on this very mic on this very mic the mayor said we found four lines that still had lead in it two now third a contractor is being charged by federal indictments where there was no oversight from the state the city or cdm smith you want us to sit here and believe you and trust in you i don't care what donald trump dr care what what less what's going on a federal level because federally a lot of things you can override you don't have to follow suit we're state we stand alone only things federal you know how it go local county of state federal you know you know how they go illegal land deals that cost taxpayers and you better look out taxpayers y'all gonna get a thousand dollars a year annual increase on your property taxes tell me i'm lying because i promise you i'm gonna come back on youtube did you know the city law department i mean the law department contracts out for cases they contract what are these two and you got kanzales you got crump you got larry you got kenyatta you got the law department and the other man that sit over there in the corner what are we contracting out for y'all don't have law degrees where y'all can sit down and say we're going to fight for our city but no you want somebody else to do it but billions of dollars in attorney fees let's go to nrdc willy parker cameron brown shavar spruce gardens cowery the towers that you know y'all got caught up with the nance center the wrongful death suit of the firefighters that didn't have the training after and then you want to promote rufus jackson unbelievable north new jersey residents y'all need to wake up and pay attention to the news the budget had to be sent back and then pre-approved by the man in the state because y'all can't get a budget out on time y'all just passed the budget for 2024 when you should be working on a budget for 2025 y'all today just passed something from 2016 2018 y'all sound ridiculous but black and brown people we have to come together to defeat these self-serving incompetent useless violating the public trust individuals and that's a word i'm using very lightly for a lack of another word pay attention to the governor's race people we had a democratic governor for two terms we were not pleased with him so the republic party will show up and show out again or maybe it's just history history say we supposed to get a republican governor what's going to happen are y'all going to straighten up or you're going to be shipped out we need to know and if you need to see that again it's on my facebook page i think y'all need to hear that the office of violence prevention get that man off of the air they had a project on this on this agenda for 80 187 liburston and if you don't i'm gonna report him to the housing authority and i'm gonna report him to the state thank you for your comments next speaker deborah salters appearing there was salters um let me say 25 summit is uh summit street it's a housing authority property it is deplorable right now they are going through they're going through it bed bugs rats radiators it's a mess it needs to be shut down so someone needs to get over to 25 summit street um i guess you need to suit up because the bed bugs are rampant so prepare yourself um and it basically needs to be shut down it is deplorable and inhabitable so get there thank you um also also um with these commissions i know we ask a lot of times what do these commissions do because it's commission after commission appointment after appointment but we don't know what these commissions do how do they benefit us in the community what work is being done i mean i i generally i'm all over the place and i don't see a lot of these people on commissions out in the streets so what is their purpose what do they do what do they bring to the table also when it comes to the trees that you all plant in the city on people's properties or in front of their homes um i was told that it is the responsibility of the homeowner if the tree begins to tear up the sidewalk so if you come and cut the tree it is up to the resident to replace the sidewalk how is that when you did not ask the homeowner to put the tree there that's your tree that you put there without anyone's permission so if it's tearing up the sidewalk you all need to handle that so hopefully at the end of this meeting you could tell me who to speak to to handle that or if you're in the building you can meet me and we can talk about this because it needs to be handled and it should not be that the resident needs to get a permit for it it should not be that the resident has to get someone else to fill in the concrete once you take the tree down also when the tree is leaning on someone's home i understand that if we were to cut it down it would be destruction of city property so i'm just going through this so that someone who is in charge can actually have this conversation and we can get this done okay um what i was going to say i'm going to defer because i have a couple meetings coming up that um i had one also the same that tillman did on october 29th with the councilman uh silver and councilman roundtree about some issues um but there's one thing i do want to say you all are in positions that you want to be in um you asked for our votes so when you're being asked questions and when you say that you are going to do a thing and you don't do it don't get mad at us we're holding you accountable for what you said you would do and in that meeting uh one of the things that i was talking about and it really had nothing to do with me personally i can't hear myself talk ladies please bring it back thank you um please let's have a quiet in the gallery while this person speak here you know i was and it was said well um we don't do things just because miss salters wants it done and i wasn't talking about anything for myself i can speak for myself as miss austin said um and it was about the parking for the residents um who live in an apartment complex and they're being charged 18 surcharge the same as out of towners this has been an issue that i have brought up multiple times and it's not about what miss salters wants i have the petitions you all decided to make those areas residential and not commercial so the three to five hundred residents that are there and the ones alone that are in that building have the right to be treated as the residents of north as they are and should not have to pay 18 surcharge and they're already paying ridiculous rent through the sky handle the situation for the residents if not i mean we know how to make you one term two term council people because we're tired and i hope that you all are paying attention to what happened with trump thank you for your comments next speaker angela williamson appearing as i get prepared to talk up here like i said i lost my memory for almost three years i'm a stroke and from that i wrote four books here's one here's another one and here's one and this is recipes and this is from all over the state right i'm a writer and i put out books i also make soap this soap is to clear the eczema that we have walking up and down the street every day you see it on people's faces you see it on their skin you see it all over their bodies the eczema right this soap heals them that i made here in that garden on martin luther king boulevard and on that point i'm saying this i live in public housing at one time before they kicked me out and stole all my housing and all my stuff in my house stole everything in there they worked in the building and stole it right in public housing and senior home that also mentally disabled where i stayed which was 46 evergreen 15 story building that wasn't even on the map and it's still not on the map and they still collect the money from that place and rats are running out of that building right in that i have a long history of complaints against my housing authority they are hired maintenance men from amongst the residents and in that those men can't read and write right and in that can't read and write how they housing us i'm for the blacks and latino i'm a socialist within being a socialist that means i plant food water and land and as a socialist i believe that we need to have something for the people and if that's black and latinos getting together to work for the people that's what i'm doing i think that as i walk up and down this street and my housing gets stolen i'm in two storages right down a block from here that are stealing out of our storages and they work in the storage and i'm paying for the storage and they're stealing everything out of my storage and no one in the city is doing anything about it that's black and latino standing together to say yes this is what we're doing we're socialists and with side of being a socialist we fight for the people i fight for myself i fight for my brothers and sisters and as i look at people on this board they have taken money out of my pocket they have seen me lay on the ground with a stroke they have said no we're not doing anything for this woman nothing i walk up and down the block and he's still out of my pockets i say to myself how am i still standing here how am i still living here how am i still planting food here because that's what we need is food land and water all the stuff that y'all doing what it is but we don't have any food water and that's all i can really talk about is food land and water because i don't have any right now and i'm staying in housing in a hotel when i paid my rent and they kicked me out they took everything i own this man everything i own my books every single one that i write and now we're not writing and reading and i stood down here at this spot where they had a poetry festival like i said and they went from zero to charging people to 115 dollars to stand in front of their door that's a lot new jersey pack is a lot so how are we as the artists that are bringing the work to the building how are we getting anything out of that what do we get we have to actually pay to be on the board we have to actually pay and put our faces into that and when i say that art changes this city that's the only thing that changes this city is art music art land once again i'm angela williamston i'm a poet i'm a socialist and i fight for the people

you are we as brown people need to we stand at a pivotal moment in life we need to stand as one unity not divided we as a people are better together i love you all i'm pro brown and cream not anti god bless you thank you for your comments next speaker lamar vaughn appearing good afternoon council members council president afternoon those that are watching at home and those who are in the audience she had a minute left i just want to know if that could be added on to mine i'm joking um i'm here today to talk specifically about something that occurred at the last council meeting specifically a guy by the name of lieutenant denard of the north police department stood before you guys here at the council presumably on the behalf of sergeant baker may he rest in peace and his wife and family and money that is owed but in the same time um and i want to thank councilman council for correctly uh you know bringing that thing back to loop uh but he stood here at the same time and talked about bcpc brick city peace collective that is the office of violence prevention and trauma recovery and specifically about new direction and a guy by the name of kalil tutt so i'll start this off by saying that he stood here in three capacities his individual capacity the north police lieutenant capacity and the vice president of the superior officers association capacity that's number one number two he stood at this microphone and defamed mr tutt by lying stating that mr tutt had been convicted for murdering a police officer and that just did not happen in fact mr tutt was acquitted for that particular charge and if those who read the case you would find the facts on the case to be what they are i need not comment further on that third i want to say that that made him liable in each one of his capacities the individual capacity the vice president capacity of the soa and in the north police capacity as well and i employ mr tutt to take legal action against this individual for those words and publicly defaming his character right but i do stand here today to sort of like salvage for the sake of the people who heard those poisonous seeds being passed around by lieutenant denard about ovp and bcpc and what it is that we do and what it is that he does not understand specifically him saying that he did not understand what conflict resolution is in fact he said whatever that is well lieutenant denard mr vice president of the soa and lieutenant detective of the north police department i'm here to tell you a few examples of what conflict resolution is a few weeks ago there was a call that came from the north police department stating that one of our schools was under threat of a shooting taking place at specifically three o'clock that was central high school right i didn't see lieutenant denard out there but i did see calil tutt i did see new direction i did see myself i did ovp and by the way for those who might try to you know go to the attorney general whatever the case is i'm not on the clock today i'm off today so i have the right to come here and speak in my individual capacity on the behalf of ovp so please don't try to report this as i'm stealing city time and all of that i'm not i'm off today and tomorrow right but back to the point when you talk about a guy by the name of calil tutt you're talking about me and you're talking about others who are in this community day to day doing things like safe passage day and night doing things like conflict resolution parents are calling on us to talk to their children are they calling you lieutenant denard no so uh without going you know all the way left here all right i'll say this there is a great need for ovp there is a great need for bcpc there is a great need for high risk intervention for risk and high risk youth and young men in our community and the people who are closest to the problem are in the best position to determine the solutions not you not lieutenant denard not the professionals and so i would just ask you council members and i close please don't let these people come to the mic and spew that bull crap to the people because it's bull crap thank you thank you for your comments next speaker anthony diangelo appearing good afternoon city council good afternoon do my favor mr neanderl put the mic down so we can hear you better thank you good afternoon city council anthony diangelo from tony service center um i just want to bring it to your attention that from this last election um the state the government the federal government is going to seize all federal money going to sanction cities so i'm bringing it to the city's attention that the belt is going to get tight okay that's number one when i was first start driving the parking tickets were two dollars it went to five dollars now i got the privilege of getting a 75 parking ticket how so is the city going to start charging more money to compensate for the federal money that's not going to be subsided because of a sanctioned city that's number one number two the people of the city is very resilient okay they're very strong-minded strong-boned and they're not going to let other people come in here and have another riot like 67 especially from other countries okay what i see what i see when this administration in january takes place they're going to stop the cell phones the prepaid cards for all these illegal immigrants migrants however you want to specify it now what do you think is going to happen what's going to happen they're going to loop right they got to eat and they're going to get put in the street because they're not going to be paying the rent the government i want the city to know and i want to ask them are you going to support ice and all the police entities and are you going to drop the sanctioned cities so we can get that support money okay or are you going to be strong-minded and keep the sanctioned city and not get the federal funding money and not support ice and protect us from these illegal people that don't belong here to be get deported okay so and then also like i brought to your attention before with the funding of the money with the license plates being checked out with the police cars on top of it and um that's the security of the people is at risk here after january okay and we got to start doing something now and not wait because things start happening so i'm bringing you the forecast of the storm it's up to the people and the city council to start getting ready for the storm because it's going to happen because the people that are going to be deported have nothing to lose and we're going to be victimized okay and then if we do protect ourselves we're going to be victimized by the state for protecting ourselves and our properties so i just want to bring it to the city attention and the council attention on what's about to go down it's big stuff and i was here when i seen the riot in 67 i do not like to see anything again like that and i was a kid back then so i want to bring it to everybody's attention now and i'm a resident and i'm a native new worker and we have it we have a business here before i was even born family owned and going to have another business west side barbecue right there on 16th avenue across from west side park and it's going to be called west side barbecue so i just want to give everybody heads up this is my city i'm born and raised here so is my father i'm not going nowhere and this is my heart and my soul okay i'm not going nowhere but i just want to bring to everybody's attention and god bless everybody thank you have a good evening thank you for your comments thank you next speaker bernard rollins appearing good afternoon to the council good afternoon to the staff good afternoon viewers i'm here this afternoon just please state your name my name is bernard rollins uh live in the west ward 8587 palm street on the property there uh last 23 years after migrating to this country i choose norc as the place of home live in just the city for approximately three months and i have given my service to the city over 20 years in the norc housing authority i work as a teacher work with legan and platt and the other places that work but norc housing authority one of the places that got a whole lot of me and the teaching service a couple months ago the norc police and the county police came to my house i would more or less say a swat team came to my house they remove my technology this response to my security and today it have not it was not being returned now i'm not concerned with what they do policing is something that you have to go along with but how it was done uh there are many other citizens who live here in norc who are immigrants to this country advantage is being taken out and you know i want to song this one on how we are being treated as immigrants because even though i'm an even though i'm an american citizen i still feel that you know i'm like i shouldn't be here i don't know what is the train the police department i don't know how what cultural uh diversity or what what did he how the engagement takes place in terms of different lectures and let them know that norc is a diverse city no is not what it used to be it is a well my lot of us are more or less a very very much include people are moving from new york people are moving from the south people move from the caribbean everybody is here my technology was being disrupted it was being removed over nine close to a year i paid 2500 to install my security so because it was rotten in the west world as it applies to crime that's my security i'm asking the city council when am i going to get monies now to replace my security so because i don't want what they have what they have removed they can keep it nobody will want a dvr that's been removed from their home and i know they can't do not they can't do this to nobody in the city council i call the six the six present spoke to them not nobody can give me an account detective that called me i have his telephone number he has not even responded come back to me and say well look mr ralphins you know something uh there was a murder or whatsoever happened in the west ward and your palm street was was a place being identified they walk the residents of palm street cannot be policing the city of nook when we are paying taxes our tax dollars goes to the city and it's been devoted or has been conserved into payment of marriage's real salaries and various development my question is why is the police coming to my home for me to do their policing with my disruptive sub-disruptive technology that i have now suave is is beyond my expectation that the place the america way technology is good and great no police department has not incorporated technology of streets technology in the streets and technology elsewhere so that when crimes happen or when anything happen when anything takes place they can detect crime now come on we this city was being wired years many many years ago how can you be rushing to people homes people's home and demanding the dvr digging it out they have no alternative you come with a SWAT team to remove my dvr my question is why i'm not the only i'm not the only person it's happening across the west world where crime is high why do we have to give the police our dvr for them to understand the footage of a crime that took place when they're being paid to patrol the streets or not i don't consider whether they're being paid or not paid the point that they've been paid to do a job but don't rush to my house and come and and dig out my dvr when you you're supposed to be solving the crime in the streets that's what you've been employed for that's what

you're supposed to do thank you very much thank you for your comments next speaker jay colter okay mr colter up here i'm not recognizing hello president uh krump how you doing sir i'm trying to grow my hair out for this movie a little opportunity um mayor baraka president krump and council colleagues and the 350 000 honorable residents of north good afternoon parent jay colter um i'm here mr president today to there's been a lot said today on today's agenda so in unorthodox fashion i will go from the end of my notes and go to the beginning councilman ramos's question wasn't answered and i'm hopeful that it'll get answered by next month in reference to the municipal safety cameras for children and seniors it was asked at the beginning of this meeting but that's really for everybody and we don't want those cameras to become militarized we want them to be used for the good and welfare of the city um every child within the city of newark should have a library card it is the untapped academic resource in our city for families children and parents and children to learn together the safe passage southwest and central should be something that is a pulse throughout the city of newark regardless if your organization is funded by a non-profit organization or as a non-profit outfit or if you are doing it with your church or your mosque or out of your own spirit of service there were some comments made against one of our violence interrupters mr kalil tutt at the last meeting by some past city folks and i just would like to put it on the record that whenever i've seen mr kalil tutt in the city we've treated each other as gentlemen and it's always a focus on what we're doing to keep the community safer for the children so not only mr president was it unconstitutional for the police officers to come here and bring past matters into a present quorum but next time we want you to admonish them if they do that because the same way once they railroad one citizen they can railroad all of us the election showed us that and we want those things and parameters to be considered in the future to not criminalize those who are taking on a path of service mr president we're…

you're supposed to do thank you very much thank you for your comments next speaker jay colter okay mr colter up here i'm not recognizing hello president uh krump how you doing sir i'm trying to grow my hair out for this movie a little opportunity um mayor baraka president krump and council colleagues and the 350 000 honorable residents of north good afternoon parent jay colter um i'm here mr president today to there's been a lot said today on today's agenda so in unorthodox fashion i will go from the end of my notes and go to the beginning councilman ramos's question wasn't answered and i'm hopeful that it'll get answered by next month in reference to the municipal safety cameras for children and seniors it was asked at the beginning of this meeting but that's really for everybody and we don't want those cameras to become militarized we want them to be used for the good and welfare of the city um every child within the city of newark should have a library card it is the untapped academic resource in our city for families children and parents and children to learn together the safe passage southwest and central should be something that is a pulse throughout the city of newark regardless if your organization is funded by a non-profit organization or as a non-profit outfit or if you are doing it with your church or your mosque or out of your own spirit of service there were some comments made against one of our violence interrupters mr kalil tutt at the last meeting by some past city folks and i just would like to put it on the record that whenever i've seen mr kalil tutt in the city we've treated each other as gentlemen and it's always a focus on what we're doing to keep the community safer for the children so not only mr president was it unconstitutional for the police officers to come here and bring past matters into a present quorum but next time we want you to admonish them if they do that because the same way once they railroad one citizen they can railroad all of us the election showed us that and we want those things and parameters to be considered in the future to not criminalize those who are taking on a path of service mr president we're asking by resolution and municipal ordinance for this body to submit a note to the clerk that we begin to add an element of spirituality and therapeutic enhancement to your public meeting by having a hand drum dedication either after the opening prayer or at some point i know the mayor's brother is a very good hand drummer and there's some other there's a long deep tradition of hand drumming in newark and the amplifying of the arts and we want a hand drum we want newark to be the first city in newark in this jersey to bring our ancestors in and invoke some of our own black and puerto rican traditions through the arts it'll allow a positive vibration to radiate through the chambers mr president that's what we're asking you to usher this city into its next chapter of peace love prosperity and for all of our cups to run it over the airport agreement should be based off of the amount of airport traffic volume we don't know we know that we're getting somewhere in a neighborhood of 100 million 175 million from the airport but we really want something in a neighborhood of 300 million from the airport annually even up to and including encouraging the airport to increase their output out their capital output by one third so we want more business to come out of the airport so that the city can get a larger fee the segregated new jersey schools and their continuous need when i think of the office of education in this building led by miss dr sharni brown her heart is in the right place but mr president we must have charter schools and the board of education discuss how we're going to keep the downtown quarter safe the organization some of the organizations that i've seen funded through the north police collective peace collective have been participating in some degree of safe passage but the charter schools have been reluctant to come down here to talk to y'all and in this new term of a president we want those schools to pay into the pot so that we can refund that and broaden the safety framework and possibly councilman silver can help you with where they have these new schools the threat and demand on traffic and how we keep kids safe through all five awards even though he's not at large maybe some of his expertise can be used in an at-large scope corporate socialism wall street the bailouts of the banks no bailout for main street municipal bailouts and the failed policies of the democrat party were just pushed back on but nor is an independent city and we're going to stay independent we hold these troops to be evident that note will be great and we need a nirk first agenda thank you mr president thank you for your comments council president council members that concludes the agenda for this meeting all right thank all right let's start with councilman ramos start with you yeah thank you mr president i just have one motion and we've been working with the various city agencies regarding some quality of life issues and concerns around the lower broadway area just asked through your chair for the ba support there are numerous emails it originated really at our second precinct monthly meeting there were some complaints about you know some of these temporary encampments that have emerged down on lower broadway areas some of that surrounding community we've been trying to engage you know mr alerio and various other city agencies so i would just ask through your chair and the clerk if we can get some follow up on that so thank you all right i give the second second by councilman kelly i think council yes gonzalez yes kelly yes kentana absent ramos yes scott roundtree yes silva yes yes councilman kelly um thank you council president um i see that mr ralins left but i just wanted to um make sure that my office uh looks into his situation and um all of the things that he's saying that that our public safety officers did or our new SWAT team and just want to make sure um that we understand the situation so we can help him move forward with that i was hoping he was still here so that that one of my aides could talk to him but he left um so uh hopefully we can catch up to him and i and i i believe i can get his phone number and reach out to him to help with that situation so is that a motion i don't think so all right this is just a request that you're going to reach out to him right all right yeah just making a request to reach out to uh mr bonara ralins i'll second that research all right second roll call council yes gonzalez yes kelly yes kentana absent ramos yes scott roundtree yes silva yes president krump yes councilwoman roundtree thank you president i want to express profound sorrow and regret for christian calivera he was known as rambo and his celebration of life will be next thursday i'm at alvarez from five to nine pm his brother he was a son a grandfather husband and father and so we just want to express profound sorrow and regret for someone who meant so much especially to his wife uh expressing profound sorrow and regret and his transitioning now off to announcements on tomorrow we will have the grand opening we had a soft opening in september of south orange avenue and camden street the parade will start here and it starts at 12 p.m and we have the muslim american veterans association and myself and some other organization that will be participating in this parade and last i said that was last but my staff gave me one more thing because i think this is happening before our next meeting there will be a pre-thanksgiving dinner this is our 11th um baraka myself and the newark interfaith alliance along with applebees for 11 years they've been providing us with meals and a dinner our dinner for thanksgiving and they deliver the food well we pick up the food they actually serve all of the food they cook all of the food and for at least three to four hundred people so this year we had to expand the space so it will be at jfk recreation center the department of recreation i want to thank them for assisting us with this initiative this year so it's the 11th annual newark gifts thanks free thanksgiving dinner and i just want to say to brother president and all my colleagues on the council thank you for allowing me to serve with you and keeping making sure that this sister over here is included and whatever it is that you do until we get another sister amen they'll say a word just laugh about it i don't know what god's going to put on the dais but i'm telling you i'm going to stand with you i'm going to be with you i'm not scared i am thankful that the city of newark allows me to serve them i am thankful that i'm able to come out in these streets and talk to our sisters and our brothers because that's what we're here to do and i welcome and thank those of you come to our meetings to express your concerns and how you want to hold us accountable and you do so thank you for that thank you for your input thank you for your participation and in case i don't see any of you on veterans day or on thanksgiving may god continue to bless each and every one of you our residents in the city of newark may god can bless continue to bless your families and all that you do happy veterans day to those who serve and happy every day of giving thanks but most assuredly if i don't see you for the holiday happy thanksgiving and god bless you thank you brother president thank you councilwoman i'll second that council yes gonzalez yes kelly yes indiana absent ramos yes scott roundtree yes silva yes president yes councilman gonzalez any all right councilman silver yes thank you council president um really quick i have one motion just a few announcements i just want to thank everybody that came out for the halloween parade in the east it was the first time in 12 years that we had one and it was a tremendous success all the kids were happy parents were happy and i just wanted to thank everybody who participated because i saw people who lived out of the east ward and i was glad to see people come from all over the city to to attend um on november 13th at 5 p.m at the sheriff fontor and mary fontor building at independence park will be having a meeting with university hospital uh refreshments and food are served it starts at 5 p.m and it's at the building that's inside independence park another meeting november 12th at 6 p.m it's regarding the redevelopment project at torrell homes it's a community benefit agreement of 25 000 dollars that the developer has given towards uh community uh towards the community and so again i want the community engaged and it's at hawkins street uh auditorium on the 12th at 6 p.m it's on my councilman page but just so everybody knows hawkins street school auditorium 6 p.m someone made a comment about a higher court so according to the information i've received from the director no one will be displaced from higher court they're going to actually build on the property of higher court and people as the buildings go up our seniors our residents will be placed in those new buildings there that's uh the meetings i've had with the director and that is currently the plan it could change but we're going to build and those people that currently live a high court will be placed in those buildings uh paving in the east i want to thank the ba and the administration i want to thank director wooden and her team uh they kept their word they kept their promise my residents are happy not about the traffic but uh they're happy uh that the streets are getting paid so i want to thank you and thank whoever in charge of the weather as well uh for allowing us to be able to do this in november because usually that's not the case so again mr ba thank you and thank director uh for paving the streets um maybe this is my motion i don't know if i need it or not but uh and this uh i'd like to get the scooter companies back here say the scooter companies the scooter companies i'd like to get them back in front of us here uh i don't want director wooden uh at the microphone i want the scooter representatives at the microphone they're the ones ultimately who are responsible it's not the engineering director uh she just puts everything together i want them at the microphone because it has not gotten any better it's gotten worse uh scooters all over the place left all over the place for days upon days upon days reckless driving of them uh and i just think we need to do something i think there needs to be a plan with these scooters going into next year and so i'm requesting that the scooter companies uh it's been a while since they've been up here and i'm just requesting that they come back in front of us because i really do have some concerns uh at the end of the day i said it before i think this was uh had a good intentions but it's not working out the way we planned it to work out and so i think we need to address a few things and maybe uh i hate to say it maybe uh not renew their contract maybe there's other ways i don't know but i'd like to get them in front of front of us once again sure i think we have a special conference the second week in december
